Our Story: Preserving Books, Elevating Interiors

Founded by Lauren Giles, Curated Books began with a mission: to rescue and repurpose books that would otherwise end up in landfill.

While working in the book trade, Lauren saw firsthand how thousands of tons of books—many over a century old—were discarded each year. A lifelong book lover and self-confessed hoarder, she knew there had to be a better way. What started as a personal effort—saving books and sharing them with friends and family—quickly grew into something much bigger. And so, Décor Books was born in 2012, which then became Curated Books in 2025

Our ethos is simple: preserve, repurpose, and rehome. In an era of mass disposal, we believe books deserve a second life—not just as literary treasures, but as beautiful design elements that bring character and history to any space.
